Welcome to Nevada's Apprenticeship Project. In the next several years, Nevada will experience significant growth in high-tech industries. The Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED) estimated that more than 40,000 job vacancies will need to be filled, many of them with a highly-skilled, trained and ready workforce for the advanced manufacturing sector that is rapidly developing.
In 2015, Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) was awarded the Department of Labor's (DOL) American Apprenticeship Initiative Grant, and the Nevada's Apprenticeship Project was formed. This program will help train more than 300 apprentices across Nevada, preparing them for high-skilled, hands-on jobs.
Whether you're an employer interested in getting positions filled now through a registered apprenticeship program or you're a job seeker ready to earn and learn, you're in the right place.
Combining a relevant education with critical on-the-job experience provides the makings for a successful career. In fact, apprenticeships are the pinnacle of work-based learning opportunities.
The concept behind apprenticeship hasn't changed all that much, but the types of industries successfully using apprenticeship to develop and build their workforce has changed drastically.
New Apprenticeship Program Approvals
TMCC received approval from the Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship for two new competency-based apprenticeship programs: Industrial Maintenance Mechanic and CNC Machine Operator. The programs are actively recruiting applicants for available apprenticeship opportunities.
Apprenticeships offer a way out of low paying, dead-end jobs and put you on a path to high-wage careers and financial success. Don't wait to start. Contact Nevada's Apprenticeship Project today.
